Eric Coomer v Mike Lindell

  • Parties Involved: Eric Coomer, former security/product strategy director at Dominion Voting Systems; Mike Lindell, CEO of MyPillow.
  • Legal Claims: Coomer sued Lindell for defamation, arguing Lindell spread false, reckless allegations of criminal conduct and treason that destroyed Coomer’s career and reputation. Coomer sought damages for the distress, threats, and professional fallout suffered as a result.
  • Defense: Lindell’s lawyers argued his statements were protected by the First Amendment, that Coomer’s reputation was already damaged by others before Lindell spoke, and that Lindell genuinely believed his claims.
  • Trial Outcome (June 2025):
    • After a two-week trial in Denver, a federal jury found Lindell liable for defamation and ordered him and FrankSpeech (his media company) to pay Coomer $2.3 million in damages.
    • The jury determined that Lindell made at least two defamatory statements personally: publicly calling Coomer “treasonous, a traitor...part of the biggest crime this world has ever seen” and urging him to “turn himself in.”
    • FrankSpeech was also found liable for an additional defamatory statement made during a broadcasted event.
    • Lindell was exonerated of eight other counts, but the damages award was significant.
  • Current Status (August 2025):
    • Lindell is pursuing an appeal of the damages due to bias inherent in jury instructions issued by the judge that prohibited consideration of key defense evidence

STATE OF MI V STEFANIE SCOTT AND STEPHANIE LAMBERT

 Background

  • Defendants: Stephanie Scott (former Adams Township Clerk) and Stefanie Lambert (her attorney and Michigan-based lawyer).
  • Charges: After the 2020 general election, both were charged with multiple felonies related to unauthorized access and disclosure of election-related data and tampering with voting equipment.

Key Allegations

  • The Michigan Attorney General alleges Scott intentionally refused to submit a voting tabulator for maintenance, despite multiple requests from state election officials, and withheld it until seized by Michigan State Police under a warrant.
  • Lambert is accused of illegally transmitting data from Adams Township’s electronic poll book, under Scott’s direction, and orchestrating broader schemes to access voting equipment in multiple Michigan counties.
  • Both are accused of recklessly breaching voter privacy, unlawfully accessing computers and voting machines, and sharing protected information with unauthorized third parties.

Pre-Trial Findings

  • The Director of the MI Bureau of Elections, Jonathan Brater, was found to have issued false statements in his testimony leading to the indictments of Stefanie Lambert and Stephanie Scott
  • These false statements also apply to indictments against Daire Rendon and Matt DePerno who are being tried separately.
  • At least 7 counts of perjury against Jonathan Brater may be levied as a result of the discrepancies in his testimony.
